Thriving Through Advocacy: Tools for Artists and Arts Administrators of Color

Join the Arts Administrators of Color Network for a deep dive workshop as part of our 2024 Virtual Learning Series, continuing our focus on policy. This session is designed to help attendees cultivate an advocacy mindset, using practical tools and real-world examples. We’ll explore the systems that shape our daily lives and practices, and how we can advocate for a world where the needs of artists and arts administrators of color are prioritized, allowing our communities to thrive.

With a strong emphasis on the value of individual lived experiences, this workshop seeks to empower arts workers of color to harness advocacy as a powerful tool in building a well-resourced, supportive community that contributes vibrantly to the arts and culture sector. This session will build on our previous discussions of the current political climate and upcoming court decisions that impact our communities, diving into case studies that address specific policies. Designed for and by BIPOC artists and arts administrators of color, this workshop is an essential part of our collective journey towards a more equitable and thriving arts ecosystem. This will be a virtual workshop on September 19th from 3:00-4:30PM EDT. Register here for $25.
