Creative Nations First Storyteller's Festival

Creative Nations is excited to share the selected playwrights for the inaugural First Storyteller's Festival this fall. FSF will feature an incredible week of new works for the stage by Native writers, as they celebrate Native American theatre and center the voices of their relatives to tell their stories.

Over the week of Sept. 30th to Oct. 6th, audiences will be invited to engage with the development of the following pieces: The Counting of the Heads, a play by Steve Callahan (Osage)

New Year's Purun, a short play by Justin P. Lopez (Mapuche)

Savage, a musical with music/lyrics/book by Nicolette Blount (Chickasaw) and book by Lindel Hart

Embers Bourne West, the first play in the Muldrow Cycle by Maddox K. Pennington (Cherokee)

Pink Man or The Only Indian in the Room, a play by Marty Strenczewilk (Ojibwe)
